Dhünn is a court in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is in the southwest of the city of Wipperfürth near the city limits to Hückeswagen on the upper reaches of the stream Große Dhünn . At Dhünn the Dhünner Bach and another right inlet flow into the Große Dhünn. Neighboring towns are Kaplansherweg , Kluse , Heidtkotten , Ritzenhaufe , Odenholl and Odenhollermühle .

The place belongs to the municipal electoral district 071 and thus to the southwestern urban area.

The first documented mention of Dhünn as "Dune" in 1189 is uncertain, as there are other places called Dhünn ( Wermelskirchen-Dhünn , Niederdhünn ) in the vicinity. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows a courtyard and describes it as “thin” . The topographical photograph of the Rhineland from 1825 shows four separate floor plans in a delimited courtyard under the name “Dhüne” . In the Prussian first recording from 1840 the place name is "Dhünn" .

The Wipperfürther Rundweg, signposted by the SGV , and the district hiking trail 9 from Wipperfürth to Bergisch Gladbach lead past the town to the east.
