Elbertzhagen is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is northwest of the city of Wipperfürth near the city limits to Hückeswagen . The Elbertzhagener Bach rises in the east of the village . There are several sources of the Kambelsiefen on the western outskirts . Neighboring towns are Arnsberg and Neuenholte, which belongs to Hückeswagen .

Politically Elbertzhagen is represented by the direct candidate of the electoral district 17.1 (171) Hammern in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

In 1200 the place was mentioned for the first time under the name "Elverthagen" , when Count Arnold von Altena assigned his wife, among other things, "curtis Elverthagen" as a widow's estate.
