Arnold von Altena
Arnold von Altena (* probably before 1150 ; † May 3, 1206, 1207 or 1209) was Count von Altena and a son of Eberhard I. von Berg-Altena .
Together with his brother, the Archbishop of Cologne , Adolf I , he had Isenburg near Hattingen built and owned many properties . He is considered to be the founder of the Berg-Altenaer Isenberg line .
His son Friedrich von Isenberg went down in history as one of the murderers of Archbishop Engelbert I of Cologne . Other sons were the Bishop of Osnabrück Engelbert I von Isenberg and the Bishop of Münster Dietrich III. from Isenberg . They were also involved in the murder.
