Stillinghausen is a hamlet in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is southeast of the city of Wipperfürth. The Stillinghausener Siepen, which flows into the Wupper, rises on the eastern edge of the village . Neighboring towns are Wipperfürth , Niedergaul and Lendringhausen .

Politically, Stillinghausen is represented in the council of the city of Wipperfürth by the direct candidate from electoral district 7.2 (072) south-eastern urban area.

history

In 1283 the place was first mentioned under the name "Stillinckhusen" . A boundary stone that stood by the place at this time marks the course of the Wipperfürth ban mile. The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows a courtyard marked as "Freyhof" at the site of Stillinghausen and designates it as "Stilinghusen" . The topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1825 shows three floor plans on a delimited courtyard under the name “Stillinhausen” .
