Roppersthal is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is in the south of the city of Wipperfürth at the Landesstraße 284. On the western edge of the village the Roppersthaler Bach flows into the Pasbach flowing past . Neighboring towns are Poshof , Sassenbach , Kleinscherkenbach and Sonnenberg .

Politically, Roppersthal is represented in the council of the city of Wipperfürth by the direct candidate of the electoral district 7.2 (072) southeast urban area.

history

Around 1449 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "Ropertdaill" in a list of citizen estates belonging to Wipperfürth. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows a courtyard and names it "Rupestahl" . The topographical photograph of the Rhineland from 1825 shows two separate floor plans on a delimited courtyard under the name "Ropperzdahl" . In the Prussian first recording from 1840 to 1844 the spelling "Ruppesthal" is used . From the topographic map from 1894 to 1896, the place name Roppersthal is used today.

A sandstone crossroads in the local area dates from 1871 .
