Bengelshagen is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ). The place belongs to the district Dohrgaul .

Location and description

The place is located in the southeast of the city of Wipperfürth on the city limits to Lindlar and Marienheide in the valley of the Holler Siepens. Neighboring towns are Leiberg , Berrenberg , Niederholl and Benninghausen .

The place belongs to the municipal electoral district 142 and thus to the district Dohrgaul.

The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows four courtyards and names them "Hagen" . The topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1825 shows five separate floor plans under the name "Hagen" in a delimited courtyard. From the Prussian first recording in 1840, the place name in the topographic maps is Bengelshagen.
