Grennebach is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The village is located in the southeast of the city of Wipperfürth on the K18 district road . The Grennebach , which rises in the local area, flows under the K18 into the Gaulbach, which flows past in the north .

Neighborhoods are Dellweg , Hahnenberg , Dohrgaul and Nagelsgaul .

The village belongs to the municipal electoral district 142 and thus to the district Dohrgaul.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1548. "Krenebach" is mentioned in the lists of the Bergische Spann- and Schüppendienste. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows two courtyards and names them "Grendenbach" . The topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1825 shows three separate floor plans on a delimited courtyard under the name "Grennenbek" . In the Prussian first recording from 1840 the place name is "Grennenbicke" . From the topographical map of the years 1894 to 1896, the place name Grennebach is used today.
