The Gaulbach is an 8.4 km long orographic left tributary of the Wupper in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

The stream rises in Königsheide at an altitude of 386  m above sea level. NN . From here it flows in a predominantly west-northwest direction through the villages of Obergaul , Nagelsgaul , Dohrgaul , Friedrichsthal , Nagelsbüchel and Niedergaul around in Wipperfürth on the left to 268  m above sea level. NN to flow towards the Wupper. On its 8.4 km long path, the Gaulbach overcomes a difference in altitude of 117 m, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 13.9 ‰.

On the initiative of the Wupperverband , the Gaulbach in the urban area of ​​Wipperfürth was freed from its stream bed, which was fortified with concrete chamber slabs, from 1999 to spring 2000 as part of the renaturation and improvement of the water structure quality and also greened with alder , ash and maples .

In earlier times mills were operated on the Gaulbach, including the Scheidermühle near Nagelsbüchel .
