Uettingen Castle was built by the Franconian noble family Wolffskeel between 1818 and 1838 in the late Classicist style according to plans by Bernhard Morell and an extension was added in 1920.

Structure and meaning

A manor is in front of the palace, which was built in the late classicist style, is Italian-oriented and rests on oak stilts. Behind the castle is an approximately 11,000 square meter English landscape park.

The German Foundation for Monument Protection describes the castle as an "outstanding architectural monument of late classicism in Northern Bavaria" and explains: "The building is characterized by the perfect uniformity of all four facades. It is an unpretentious architecture, but of great refinement. [. ..] It is in an impressively good original condition including the roof truss, which is described as a masterpiece of carpentry. [...] The whole charisma of the castle is based not least on its tension to the landscape. The highly uniform and sharp-edged building block acts Almost self-sufficient in its surroundings, which are similar to an English landscape garden. The contour-bound architecture contrasts with the amorphous landscape, which results in a high aesthetic appeal. "

The castle is registered as an architectural monument in the Bavarian list of monuments.
