Schloss Burg Grumbach is in the district of castle Grumbach of the Lower Franconian community Unterpleichfeld situated castle. It is registered as an architectural monument in the Bavarian list of monuments.

history

The castle, built in the 11th century, originally belonged to the noble family von Grumbach , who died out in the male line in 1243. After that, the property passed to the Counts of Rieneck in 1243 . 1282 consisting of the bought Frankish nobility originating from Wolflin Wolfskeel third of the castle. In 1328 Eberhard von Wolfskeel also bought the remaining 2/3 of the castle. The part of the Wolfskeel family settling in Burggrumbach called themselves "Wolfskeel von Grumbach" after their new seat, later only " von Grumbach ". Later the castle passed to the diocese of Würzburg . In 1692 a parsonage was built next to the Palas .
