Niedergaul is a village in Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ). The village belongs to the district Agathaberg and is located at an altitude of 285  m above sea level. NHN .

Location and description

Niedergaul is located east of the main town at the intersection of the L302 and L284 roads .

Neighboring towns are Wipperfürth itself, Herzhof , Sassenbach , Nagelsbüchel , Stillinghausen , Kleinscherkenbach and Roppersthal .

Niedergaul lies at the confluence of the Gaulbach and the Pasbach .

history

In 1443 the place was mentioned for the first time in a document as Goel under “Income and rights of the Cologne Apostle monastery”. The town hall of the Klüppelberg municipality, which was independent from 1808 to the end of 1974, was located in Niedergaul .
