The Hofschaft is in the north of Wipperfürth north of the Neyetalsperre . Neighboring places are Platzweg , Obernien , Hackenberg , Niederscheveling and Unterstien . The Hülsendelle, which flows into the Neye II , rises northeast of Hülsen.

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate from electoral district 17.2 (172) Egen in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.
