Großblumberg is a village of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The village is located in the north of Wipperfürth, 230 m from the dam of the Neyetalsperre. Neighboring places are Klitzhaufe , Hambüchen , Hasselbick , Berghof and Sonnenschein . The Großblumberger Brook, which flows into the Neye, rises 100 m southwest of the village .

Politically, the village is represented by the direct candidates from the electoral district 02 (020) Sanderhöhe and Wolfsiepen in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

In 1443 the place is listed for the first time under the name "Bloymberg" in a directory of the income and rights of the Cologne Apostelstifts. On the Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715, "Blumberg" consists of a western and an eastern settlement area, each with two courtyards. The map topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 still names both districts uniformly with "Blomberg" . From the Prussian first recording from 1840 to 1844, the eastern part bears the name “Gr. Blumberg ” and the western one is called “ Kl. Blumberg ” .
