Location and description

The place is in the southeast of the city of Wipperfürth in the valley of the river Wupper on the border with the municipality of Marienheide . Neighboring towns are Neuenhaus , Feldhoff (Marienheide) and Ohl .

In 1548 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "Meysenwykel" in the lists of the Bergisch tension and barge services . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows a courtyard and names it "Meiswinckel" . The topographical photograph of the Rhineland from 1825 shows two separate floor plans on a delimited courtyard under the name “Mesewinkel” . From the official topographical map ( Prussian new recording ) from 1894 to 1896, the place name Mesewinkel is used. The district is now a street name in Ohl and is listed in the street and place list of the city of Wipperfürth as Mesewinkler Weg.
