Haufe is a town of Wipperfürth in Oberbergischer Kreis in Region of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The village is located in the east of Wipperfürth on the 341.2 m high Weiersberg. Neighboring towns are Egerpohl , Niederwipper , Dievesherweg , Boxbüchen and Böswipper . The Haufer Bach rises in the village . In the northwest lies the source of the Langensiefen . Both waters flow into the Wupper River .

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate of the constituency 12.2 (122) Niederwipper in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1548. "Hauw" is mentioned in the lists of the Bergisch tension and barge services . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows two farms under the name “Haufe” . The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 shows six individual building floor plans in the village under the same name.

There is an oak crossroads in the village. The age of the cross erected by former residents of Haufe is not known.
