Ritterlöh is a court of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The Hofschaft is located in the northeast of Wipperfürth on the northern outskirts of the village of Kreuzberg. Neighboring towns are Kreuzberg , Hackenberg , Forste and Halkenberg . The Ritterlöh brook, which flows into the Neye, rises in the court yard .

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate of electoral district 11 (110) Kreuzberg in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

In 1548 Ritterlöh was named under the name "tho Loy" in the lists of the Bergisch tension and barge services. The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows a courtyard and describes it as "zum Löh" .

There is evidence of a Landwehr line running from Wuppertal-Elberfeld to Marienheide-Krommenohl in the west of the village. This Bergische Landwehr secured the Bergisches Territory from incursions from the Märkische.
