Arnsberg is a village in the district of Wipperfeld in the town of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ). In addition to this Arnsberg, in Wipperfürth there is also the village of the same name Arnsberg in the hamlet of Hammern .

Location and description

Arnsberg is 1.3 km northeast of the center of Wipperfeld and 4.8 km southwest of the city center of Wipperfürth on the border with Hückeswagen at an altitude of 310  m above sea level. NN . Neighboring towns are Niederdhünn , Odenholl , Schniffelshöh and Oberholl (Wipperfeld) .

The historical map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows two courtyards and names them "Ansberg" . The map topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 shows "Arnsberg" on a delimited courtyard with three separate building plans. The Prussian premiere from 1844 named the place "Arensberg" . From the topographic map from 1893 to 1895 the place name Arnsberg is used.
