Hohenbüchen is a court of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The Hofschaft is in the north of Wipperfürth on the city limits to Halver . Neighboring places are Reading Books , Beinghausen and Egen . Hohenbüchen can be reached in the Wipperfürth urban area via the K13 district road. The bus line 337 (VRS / OVAG, status: 2007) provides a connection to local public transport. The bus stop is right in town.

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate from electoral district 17.2 (172) Egen in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

The place was first mentioned in a document around 1449. A list of civil property can be found in the Wipperfürth city archive. The place is listed with the spelling "Hogenboicken". In 1715, three farms are shown on the Topographia Ducatus Montani map under the place name "Hohen Büchen" . The map topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 shows four building floor plans on a delimited courtyard and uses the Hohenbüchen spelling as the place name.

A stone memorial cross erected in the 20th century commemorates a former resident of the town.

The circular route marked with the hiking sign A1 runs through the village. The path is signposted by the Sauerland Mountain Association and starts and ends at the hiking car park in the village of Wipperfürth- Egen, 1.4 km away .
