Location and description

The place is in the northwest of the city of Wipperfürth in the valley of the river Wupper . The Stöpgeshofer Siefen, which flows into the Neye, rises northeast of Stöpgeshof . Neighboring towns are Wipperhof Neye and Felderhof .

history

Around 1590 the place is first mentioned under the name "Stopgens Hove" in a register of heirs of the Catholic parish Wipperfürth. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows a courtyard and names it “Stopgeshof” . The topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1825 shows the Stöpgeshof with three separate floor plans in the enclosed courtyard.
