Hüffen is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is located in the southwest of the city of Wipperfürth on the city limits to Kürten north of the federal highway 506 , which was an important military route between Cologne and Dortmund in the Middle Ages . The place is on the watershed between the Große Dhünn and the Kürtener Sülz . The Sülzüberleitung passes underground to the west of the village. The Hüffensiefen rises in the north of the village . The Frösselner Bach flows past in the southeast . Neighboring places are Unterschneppen , Ente , Frösseln and Laudenberg, which belongs to Kürten .

The place belongs to the municipal electoral district 160 and thus to the electoral district Wipperfeld .

history

In 1548 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "zo Hoeffen" in the lists of the Bergisch tension and barge services . In 1715 the place is recorded on the Topographia Ducatus Montani with four individual courtyards under the name "Hüffen" . The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 already uses the place name Hüffen and shows two separate floor plans in the enclosed courtyard.
