The moor in the Schotenheide is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Grethem in the Samtgemeinde Ahlden and in the Ahlden (Aller) area in the Samtgemeinde Ahlden in the Heidekreis district .

description

The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 171 is 37  hectares in size. It is located southwest of the patch Ahlden (Aller) in the pods Heide, a forest area south of Aller and sets in a landscape trough lying close to nature small bog under protection. In the bog there are some manual peat cuttings that are filled with water. The moor area is surrounded by pine forest, which is included as a buffer zone in the nature reserve.

The area has been a nature reserve since October 16, 1988. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Heidekreis.
