The Wittenmoor is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Wietzendorf in the Heidekreis district .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG LÜ 246 is around 28  hectares in size. It has been a nature reserve since February 2, 1999. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Heidekreis.

The two-part nature conservation area is located north of Wietzendorf on the edge of the valley of Aue, to which it also ditches drained. It places the remainder of a raised bog with shallow manual peat cutting areas under protection. The manual peat cuttings, in which cotton grasses , peat moss and rocking lawns grow, are surrounded by bog heather . There are also populations of the bog lily and the nail bush .

The moor areas are overgrown by swamp forests at the edges . In the north of the reserve, the rest is a bullrushes and - sedges rich wet meadow .

The nature reserve borders mainly on agricultural areas , in the west also on wooded areas. To preserve and develop the area, rewetting and de-kusselung measures are planned. A spruce stand included in the nature reserve is to be converted into a semi-natural mixed deciduous forest.
