history

In 1387 the place was mentioned for the first time under the name "Hoele" in a letter from the Wipperfürth jury. It speaks of a "Hermann van me Hoele". Because of similar Wipperfürth place names, the location on Hohl is considered unsafe. The historical map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows four homesteads named “Holl” . From the topographical survey of the Rhineland map from 1825, the place name "Hohl" is used.

From 1910 to 1960 the railway line fromschlag to Wipperfürth passed the Hofschaft. This railway line branched off from the Wippertalbahn at Wipperfürth station and connected to the Wuppertalbahn when it stopped .

bus connections

There is a connection to local public transport via the Rote Höhe bus stop on line 338 (VRS / OVAG) in neighboring Kreuzberg .

Hiking trails

The Halveraner Rundweg , signposted by SGV , leads past the village to the east.
