Niederholl is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is in the southeast of the city of Wipperfürth on the city limits to Lindlar and Marienheide on a ridge between the brooks Holler Siepen and the Lindlarer Sülz . Neighboring towns are Dellweg , Oberholl , Schnipperinger Mühle , Bengelshagen and Berrenberg .

The place belongs to the municipal electoral district 142 and thus to the district Dohrgaul .

history

Around 1443 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "in the Hole" in an income and rights list of the Cologne Apostelstifts. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows two courtyards and designates them with “u. Holl " . The topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1825 shows the enclosed courtyard under the name “Nied. Hoel “ four separate floor plans. In the Prussian first recording from 1840 the place name is "Niedersholl" . From the topographic map of the years 1894 to 1896, the place name Niederholl is used today.
