Obermausbach is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is in the southwest of the city of Wipperfürth near the federal highway 506 , which was an important military route between Cologne and Dortmund in the Middle Ages . The place is on the watershed between the Große Dhünn and the Kürtener Sülz . The Mausbach rises in the east of the village . Neighboring places are Lamsfuß , Unterholl , Erlen , Untermausbach and Wüstenhof near Wipperfeld .

The place belongs to the municipal electoral district 160 and thus to the electoral district Wipperfeld .

history

In 1443 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "Musbecke" in an income and rights list of the Cologne Apostelstifts. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows the place with the place name "Musbach" and two courtyards. The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 shows Obermausbach on a delimited courtyard with three separate floor plans.
