Heidtkotten is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is in the west of the city of Wipperfürth. A tributary of the Isenburg brook , the Heidtkotten brook , has its source in the village . Neighboring towns are Isenburg , Bochen and Dhünn .

Politically, Heidtkotten is represented by the direct candidate of the electoral district 17.1 (171) Hammern in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

Around 1500 the place was first mentioned under the name "Heitkotten" in a register of heirs of the Catholic Church in Wipperfürth. The topographical photograph of the Rhineland from 1825 shows four separate floor plans on a delimited courtyard under the name “Heidkoten” . In the Prussian first recording in 1840 the place name is "Heitkorten" .

There are two crossroads in the local area. The sandstone cross was erected in 1903 and restored in 2008. In 2005 another stone cross was erected in the village.
