Hamböcken is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is located in the southwest of the city of Wipperfürth on the city limits to Kürten south of the federal highway 506 , which was an important military route between Cologne and Dortmund in the Middle Ages . The place is on the watershed between the Große Dhünn and the Kürtener Sülz . The Burgheimer Bach rises on the northwestern edge of the village, and another unnamed body of water rises in the village. Both streams flow into the Kürtener Sülz. Neighboring towns are Sommerberg , Ente , and the towns of Körschsiefen and Nassenstein , which belong to Kürten .

The place belongs to the municipal electoral district 160 and thus to the electoral district Wipperfeld .

history

In 1487 the place was first mentioned under the name "Haenboecken" in loan lists for Wilhelm III. called by Berg . In 1715 the place is recorded on the Topographia Ducatus Montani on two settlement areas with seven individual courtyards under the name "Hagenbugt" . The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 uses the place name "Hamböken" and shows ten separate floor plans in two enclosed courtyards.
