Erlen is a village in the Kreuzberg district of the city of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ). In addition to this alder, there are also the towns of the same name in Wipperfürth, Erlen in the Wipperfürth district and Erlen in the Wipperfeld district .

Location and description

The village is located in the northeast of Wipperfürth on the city limits of Halver . Several residential areas along the road from Kreuzberg to Halver belong to Erlen. Neighboring places are Auf dem Wiebusch , Hohl , Engsfeld , schlag and Berken . The Heinken-Hedfelder Bach flowing into the Hönnige flows through alders .

Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate of electoral district 11 (110) Kreuzberg in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.

history

In 1548 the place was mentioned for the first time under the name "tho den Erlen" in the lists of the Bergisch tension and barge services. The historical map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows two homesteads named "Alders" .

From 1910 to 1960 the railway line fromschlag to Wipperfürth passed west of the village. This railway line branched off from the Wippertalbahn at Wipperfürth station and connected to the Wuppertalbahn when it stopped .
