Grüterich is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).
Location and description
The place is located in the southwest of the city of Wipperfürth. A tributary of the Schwarzenbach rises in the village . Neighboring towns are Wipperfeld , Oberholl , Herweg and Oberschwarzen .
Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate of the constituency 7.1 (071) southwestern urban area in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.
history
In 1443 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "Grutringhen" in an income and rights list of the Cologne Apostelstifts. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows four courtyards and names them "Grüterig" . The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 shows nine separate floor plans on two enclosed courtyards under the name “Grutrich” . From the Prussian first recording in 1840, the place name Grüterich is used.
A sandstone crossroads in the local area dates from 1855 .
