Peddenpohl is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is in the southwest of the city of Wipperfürth on the edge of the industrial area "Klingsiepen Nord". The Weinbach stream rises to the west of the village . Neighboring towns are Klingsiepen , Ritzenhaufe , the city of Wipperfürth and Wildblech .

Politically, Peddenpohl is represented in the council of the city of Wipperfürth by the direct candidate from electoral district 7.1 (071) south-western urban area.

history

The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from the year 1715 shows a single farm and names it “Perren Pohl” . The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 shows four separate floor plans in the enclosed courtyard in Peddenpohl.

A wooden court cross with a corpus from the 18th century stands in the local area.

The side road leading through Peddenpohl today was once part of the Heerweg , which ran from Cologne via Wipperfürth towards Soest.
