Vincent Hauschka
Vinzenz Hauschka (in Czech Vincenc Houška , born January 21, 1766 in Mies , † September 13, 1840 in Vienna ) was a Bohemian civil servant, musician and composer .
Life
The student of Anton Laube and Josef Seger was cellist in the chapel of Count von Thun until 1788 . Later he got a post as a civil servant in Vienna. He was one of the founders and directors of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde and conducted a number of concerts in which works by his friend Ludwig van Beethoven were performed. He composed several cello sonatas , notturni , canons and songs . His cello concertos and numerous chamber music works - including quintets and duets for baryton - have been lost.
In 1932 the Vinzenz-Hauschka-Gasse in Vienna- Donaustadt (22nd district) was named after him.
