history

Dornbach was first mentioned in a document in 1127/31, but the origin of the settlement is assumed to be between 900 and 1050 as a result of the Franconian - Carolingian settlement construction. Dornbach is a split from Vorst.

In 1818 nine residents lived in the village. In 1838 Dornbach belonged to the Lausberg farmers' group within the Halver mayor . The place categorized as Kotten according to the place and distance table of the government district Arnsberg had a house, a factory or mill and four agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, six people lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

The community encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia from 1887 gives a number of ten residents who lived in a residential building.

A presumably prehistoric old road from Schwelm via Radevormwald to Wegerhof , which was used as an iron and coal road, ran along the route of today's K3 district road near Dornbach .
