Jari Pietsch (born January 5, 1991 in Berlin ) is a former German ice hockey player who was last under contract with EHC Bayreuth in the ice hockey league .
Career
Jari Pietsch began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown Berlin, initially in the youth department of the BSC Prussia . At the age of 12 he moved to the Eisbären Juniors Berlin , for whom he was active in the German Junior League from 2006 to 2009 . At the same time, he made his debut in the major league for the second team in the 2008/09 season , the Eisbären Berlin, the Eisbären Juniors , for which he played in the following two years. He also played four games for the professional team of the Dresdner Eislöwen in the 2nd Bundesliga .
For the 2010/11 season he switched completely to the 2nd Bundesliga, where Pietsch earned a regular place with the Dresdner Eislöwen and scored a goal in a total of 56 games and gave two assists. Before the following season, Pietsch signed a two-year contract and was still part of the Eislöwen squad, but from December 2011 until the following season he was out due to illness. After his comeback, Pietsch was able to earn a regular place again and scored 4 goals and provided another 4 assists in the 2012/13 season.
For the 2013/14 season he moved to Bayreuth to study and played for the Bayreuth Tigers in the Oberliga Süd. With Bayreuth he reached the semi-finals and scored 10 goals and provided 17 assists in the season. In the following season, some minor injuries threw him back, but he scored 11 goals and 10 assists and was able to move into the semifinals again with the Bayreuth Tigers.
International
For Germany , Pietsch took part in the U18 Junior World Championship 2009 in Fargo , North Dakota . In the course of the tournament he remained pointless in six games and received eight penalty minutes.
Pietsch completed a total of 23 international matches for the U18 national team and eight for the U19 national team, as well as two more for the U20 national team.
