Paul Burghardt (born February 25, 1986 in Olesno , Poland ) is a German author who works primarily as a radio play producer and speaker. In addition, he acts as a dialogue director and dialogue book author . He was best known for his radio plays Wayne McLair , Twilight Mysteries , The Greatest Cases of Scotland Yard and Revelation 23 .

Life

Paul Burghardt grew up in Lower Saxony's Weser Uplands near Bückeburg , where he attended elementary school and graduated from high school Adolfinum Bückeburg . There he was a member of the school newspaper InTeam and spent a large part of his free time reading books. For a short time he was part of an independent theater company made up of students. After graduating from high school, he completed his community service in the shared kindergarten house of the child in Bückeburg and moved to Paderborn in 2006 to study .

From 2006 to 2012, he studied German and theology at the University of Paderborn , where he was particularly interested in courses in medieval studies . During his studies he began working on his radio play series Wayne McLair, which he was offering as free radio plays on the platform Hoerspielprojekt.de at the time. After completing his first state examination at the university, he completed his legal clerkship in Hagen from 2012 to 2014 , until he decided to take a different path and set up his own business as a dialogue book author.

Paul Burghardt has lived in Hamburg with his wife since 2014.

Artistic career

Paul Burghardt began to work intensively on writing his own texts during his studies in Paderborn. His first radio plays were created as free productions on the Hoerspielprojekt.de portal, where he also worked as a lecturer in addition to his own productions.

Since 2015 he has devoted himself full-time to writing, recording and editing radio plays and enjoys his freelance work as an author, speaker and producer with a focus on radio plays.

Since 2015 he has also been part of the producer duo "Stein / Hardt Radio Play Production", in which he wrote and recorded radio plays for various publishers in close collaboration with musician and sound designer Tom Steinbrecher . The largest work of this cooperation is the action mystery series Twilight Mysteries.

After a short time Paul Burghardt wrote dialogue books for publishers such as Maritim , Romantruhe , Dreamland and Holysoft and produced various radio plays.

This includes activities such as:

  • Conception and implementation of radio plays and audio books
  • Production manager and project management
  • Post production (dialogue editing, sound design , microphone speaking)

Publications

Paul Burghardt's best-known work is the radio play series Wayne Mclair . So far, the series has 15 episodes and 1 special episode in the radio play series Sherlock Holmes & Co. Another season is currently (2020) in production.

Wayne McLair was initially created as a free production on the Hoerspielprojekt.de portal. Later the first episodes were re-produced and published under the Maritim Verlag and all other episodes of the first season were produced.
