Paul Chet Greene

Everly Paul Chet Greene (born in Liberta in the 20th century ) is an Antigua and Barbuda politician of the Antigua Labor Party . He has been a member of the House of Representatives since 2014 .

Family and education

Greene was born the fifth of six children to Joseph and Areril Greene. He received his education at the Liberta Primary School and the All Saints Secondary School. He studied sports administration at the University of Poitiers . He is married and has two sons and three daughters.

Career

Greene owns several bakeries in his hometown and on Barbuda. He was first known to the general public as a sports official. He worked in the Ministry of Sport in his home country and was chairman of the Antigua and Barbuda Olympic Association . He was also active as Secretary General of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association in FIFA . As part of this commitment, he fell into disrepute when it became known that tickets for the 1998 World Cup and 2002 World Cup from the contingent of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association were being offered on the black market . In the 2009 general election , his party put him up as a candidate in the constituency . However, he was defeated by Eleston Montgomery Adams , the United Progressive Party candidate . In the 2014 elections , he then prevailed against the incumbent with 59.28% of the vote. Greene currently serves in Prime Minister Gaston Browne's cabinet as Secretary of Commerce, Industry, Sports, Culture and National Celebrations.
