Paul Cotton

Paul Cotton (* 1939 in Fitchburg , Massachusetts , USA ) is an American provocative concept and performance artist.

Life

Paul Cotton drew attention to himself when he made an uninvited performance at the Art and Technology Show at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in the late 1960s.

Paul Cotton is best known for his disguise in a pink bunny costume that does not hide his genitals and other acts of provocation of public nudity in his appearances and performances. His art is shaped by religious revelations and mythical interpretations.

He was a participant in Documenta 5 in Kassel in 1972 in the department Individual Mythologies : Self-Presentation - Performances - Activities - Changes . In the first week of documenta (June 30 to July 7, 1972) he performed the performance “ Prince of Peace ” together with Eugenia Butler as: Trans-Parent Teacher's Ink .
