Paul Deighton, Baron Deighton
Paul Deighton Clive, Baron Deighton , KBE (* 18th January 1956 , Carshalton , Surrey ) studied at Trinity College of Cambridge University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from.
From 1983 to 2005 he worked as an investment banker for the investment bank Goldman Sachs . In 2005 he was appointed Chief Executive to the London Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games . Paul Deighton is considered the driving force behind the revenue of 2 billion pounds sterling in the field of private sector, hosting the 2012 Olympic Games in London enabled. Jacques Rogge awarded him the Olympic Order for his work .
As part of a cabinet reshuffle in September 2012, British Prime Minister David Cameron decided that Paul Deighton would take over from James Sassoon as Commercial Secretary to the Treasury from January 2013 . One of Paul Deighton's new responsibilities there is also handling the 2012 Olympic Games.
On November 1, 2012, Paul Deighton was promoted to Life Peer as Baron Deighton , of Carshalton in the County of Surrey, and inducted into the House of Lords on the same day .
