Paul Derks

Paul Derks (born March 8, 1944 in Gladbeck ) is a German specialist in German .

Life

Derks studied German philology in Münster , Freiburg im Breisgau and Bochum . His doctorate was in Münster in 1969; the habilitation 1981 in Essen . He taught as an adjunct professor and private lecturer at the University of Duisburg-Essen . His work The Shame of the Holy Pederasty , published in 1990, provided a decisive impetus for dealing with the subject of homosexuality in German literary studies.
