Paul Durm

Paul Durm (born September 15, 1920 in Rodalben ; † December 5, 2015 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1964 to 1975 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .

Life

Durm attended elementary school and high school. He then did a commercial apprenticeship and then worked in his father's shoe factory until 1939. From 1939 to 1945 he did military service in World War II and was then an American prisoner of war until the end of 1945 . Then he worked on rebuilding the company.

politics

Durn was chairman of the JU Rodalben. In 1947 he became a member of the CDU and was chairman of the CDU local association Rodalben. Since 1959 he was a member of the CDU district executive, since 1958 chairman of the CDU district association Pirmasens.

In terms of local politics, he was a member of the Rodalben City Council from 1948 to 1982. In 1955 he became honorary (May) and full-time (November) mayor in Rodalben and from 1972 to 1982 he was mayor of the town of Rodalben and mayor of the municipality of the same name .

From 1960 to 1990 he was a member of the district council, from 1963 parliamentary group chairman and 1963 to 1990 first district deputy of the Pirmasens district .

In 1964 he moved to the state parliament for the late Hermann Seibel . In the two subsequent elections he made it straight to parliament and was a member of the parliament's interior committee.

In addition, from 1957 to 1964 he was district group chairman of the Rhineland-Palatinate municipal and urban federation, chairman of the administrative board and executive chairman of the board of trustees of the St. Elisabeth Hospital Rodalben, member of the board of the Rhineland-Palatinate district council, of the administrative committee of the Pirmasens employment office, of the state planning advisory board , on the church administrative council, on the supervisory board of the VR-Bank and on the board of directors of the DRK.
