The Verbandsgemeinde Rodalben is an administrative unit in the legal form of a regional authority in the district of Südwestpfalz in Rhineland-Palatinate . The municipality of the association includes the town of Rodalben and five independent local communities , the administrative seat is in the eponymous town of Rodalben. It covers part of the Graefensteiner Land landscape .

history
The Verbandsgemeinde Rodalben was re-formed on a voluntary basis on December 5, 1971 as part of the functional and territorial reform of Rhineland-Palatinate that began in the 1960s .
Previously, the administrative structures originating from the Palatinate (Bavaria) (1816–1946) essentially applied in the then administrative district of Palatinate .

Association municipal council
The Verbandsgemeinderat Rodalben consists of 28 honorary council members, who were elected in a personalized proportional representation in the local elections on May 26, 2019 , and the full-time mayor as chairman. Until 2014, the municipal council had 32 council members.

mayor
Mayor of the Verbandsgemeinde Rodalben has been Wolfgang Denzer (SPD) since January 1, 2018. In the runoff election on October 8, 2017, he was elected for eight years with a share of 52.7% of the vote, after none of the original six applicants achieved a sufficient majority in the direct election on September 24, 2017. Denzer is the successor to Werner Becker (CDU), who retired after 16 years in office.

The blazon of the coat of arms reads: "In a red shield border in gold a red-armored red griffin."
It was approved by the Neustadt district government in 1978 and, with the Greif in Baden, refers to the historical rule.
