The Graefensteiner Land is a landscape in the Palatinate in the German state Rhineland-Palatinate . It is almost congruent with the Verbandsgemeinde Rodalben .

Location and boundaries

The land is located in the southwest of the Palatinate Forest, northeast of Pirmasens and is part of the Palatinate Forest Nature Park , which does not exceed 550 meters above sea level here. The area is bordered in the west by the connecting road Pirmasens, Rodalben and the Schwarzbach river to Waldfischbach-Burgalben . In the east, the Wieslauter forms the natural end. To the south, federal highway 10 borders the Graefensteiner Land.

Tourism in the Graefensteiner Land is primarily characterized by hiking . A well-developed network of hiking trails leads to striking red sandstone rocks and numerous sights such as Gräfenstein Castle near Merzalben and the Luitpold Tower .
