Paul Fliche

Paul Henri Marie Thérèse André Fliche , called Paul Fliche, (born June 8, 1836 in Rambouillet , † November 29, 1908 in Nancy ) was a French paleobotanist and botanist. Its official botanical author's abbreviation is " Fliche ".

He was a professor at the École Forestière in Nancy and since 1904 a corresponding member of the Académie des Sciences .

Fliche published among other things on fossil plants of the Triassic of Lorraine and on the flora of the Tertiary in France. Due to a strict religious upbringing, he was not a supporter of the theory of evolution.

Julius Schuster assigned this plant in 1932 to the Cycadaceae of the genus Lepacyclotes established by Ebenezer Emmons in 1856 , Gregory Retallack 1997 currently valid as Lepacyclotes zeilleri (FLICHE 1910) of the Isoetales order established by Carl Prantl in 1874 .
