Rambouillet is a French commune in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France .

geography

Rambouillet is located 50 kilometers southwest of Paris in the middle of the Rambouillet forest, 142 m above sea level. The city has 26,736 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and covers an area of ​​3,519 hectares. It is located on the Drouette River . The municipality is part of the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Nature Park .
