Poigny-la-Forêt is a French municipality with 931 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Rambouillet and the canton of Rambouillet . The inhabitants are called Pugnéens .
geography
Poigny-la-Forêt is located about 47 kilometers west-southwest of Paris and about six kilometers northeast of Rambouillet . The municipality is part of the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Nature Park . Poigny-la-Forêt is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Léger-en-Yvelines in the north, Les Bréviaires in the east and north-east, Rambouillet in the east and south-east, Gazeran in the south, Hermeray in the west and south-west and La Boissière-École in the north-west.
