Villiers-Saint-Frederic is a French commune with 2,838 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Rambouillet and the canton of Aubergenville (until 2015: canton of Montfort-l'Amaury ). The inhabitants are called Villiersois .
geography
Villiers-Saint-Frédéric is located about 30 kilometers west of Versailles on the Mauldre River . Villiers-Saint-Frédéric is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Germain-de-la-Grange in the north and northeast, Neauphle-le-Château in the east, Jouars-Pontchartrain in the southeast, Neauphle-le-Vieux in the south and west and Beynes in the Northwest.
The former Route nationale 12 (D912) runs through the municipality .

- Saint-Frédéric church, former Saint-Georges chapel of Villiers Castle, originally built in the 13th century, rebuilt in the 15th century, converted into a church in 1783
- Remains of the Villiers Castle, originally in the style of Louis XIII. built, almost completely removed (the old castle chapel is now the church of Saint-Frédéric), the manor is still there
- Villiers forest, 40 hectares of woodland

In Villiers-Saint-Frédéric, Renault's IDVU (Ingenierie Division Vehicules Utilitaires) commercial vehicle development center is located and one of the largest Renault production facilities for vehicle parts and tools.
