Orphin is a French municipality with 898 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Rambouillet and the canton of Rambouillet . The inhabitants are called Orphinois .
geography
Orphin is located about 51 kilometers west-southwest of Paris and about seven kilometers south-southwest of Rambouillet . Orphin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Gazeran in the north, Orcemont in the north and east, Prunay-en-Yvelines in the south and south-east, Saint-Symphorien-le-Château in the south, Écrosnes in the west and south-west and Émancé in the west and north-west.
