Galluis is a French commune with 1,212 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Rambouillet and the canton of Aubergenville (until 2015: canton of Montfort-l'Amaury ).
geography
Galluis is 17 kilometers north of Rambouillet . The municipality is part of the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Nature Park . The neighboring municipalities of Galluis are Boissy-sans-Avoir in the north, Méré in the east, Grosrouvre in the south and southwest and La Queue-les-Yvelines in the west.
The Route nationale 12 runs through the municipality.
history
In 1883 the neighboring municipality of La Queue-les-Yvelines was separated from the municipality. The municipality was previously called Galluis-la-Queue .
