Prunay-en-Yvelines is a French municipality with 870 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Rambouillet and the canton of Rambouillet (until 2015: canton of Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines ). The inhabitants are called Prunaysia .
geography
Prunay-en-Yvelines is about 54 kilometers southwest of Paris and about 12 kilometers southwest of Rambouillet . Prunay-en-Yvelines is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Orphin in the north and north-west, Orcemont in the north, Sonchamp in the north-east, Ablis in the east, Orsonville in the south and south-east, Auneau in the south-west and Saint-Symphorien-le-Château in the west.
history
In 1979 the commune called Prunay-sous-Ablis was merged with the commune of Craches to form today's commune of Prunay-en-Yvelines .
