Town hall (Mairie) of Choisel

Choisel is a French municipality with 556 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Rambouillet and the canton of Maurepas (until 2015: canton of Chevreuse ). The inhabitants are called Choiséliens .

geography

The municipality is part of the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Nature Park . Choisel is located about 30 kilometers southwest of Paris and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Dampierre-en-Yvelines in the north and north-west, Saint-Forget in the north, Chevreuse in the north-east, Boullay-les-Troux in the east, Pecqueuse in the south and south-east, Bullion in the South, Cernay-la-Ville to the west and southwest, and Senlisse to the west.

The former route nationale 306 (today's D906) runs through the municipality .
