Auffargis is a French commune with 1,982 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Rambouillet and the canton of Rambouillet . The inhabitants are called Fargussia .
geography
Auffargis is located 27 kilometers west-southwest of Versailles by the forest of Rambouillet. This is where the Drouette rises . The municipality is part of the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Nature Park .
Auffargis is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Les Essarts-le-Roi in the north, Senlisse in the east, Cernay-la-Ville in the east and southeast, La Celle-les-Bordes in the south and southeast, Vieille-Église-en-Yvelines in the south and Southwest and Le Perray-en-Yvelines to the west.
The municipality of Saint-Benoît belongs to the municipality . The route nationale 10 runs along the north-western edge of the municipality .
